At long last, North Reading got a breather.
The top-seeded Hornets shut out No. 12 Austin Prep, 4-0, in the semifinals of the Division 3 North sectionals at Fraser Field.
This came after a comeback first-round victory over Swampscott and a 10-9 thriller over Georgetown in the quarterfinals in which the Hornets scored three times with two outs in the bottom of the seventh.

DeLuca began playing lacrosse as a 6th grader at Austin because he wanted to follow in his older brothers' footsteps, both of whom played for the Cougars. His brother Anthony graduated in 2000, and his brother William graduated in 2004.
