Andrew Perry dominated the morning at the plate with a single, a double and a sacrifice fly, driving in four runs, as North Andover knocked off Arlington, 6-3. Aidan Lynch had a pair of hits. Ryan Griffin earned the win with five solid innings, striking out seven for the Knights, who have now won six straight to move to 8-3.

Burdier, Hillies roll on

Kyra Burdier scored team-highs in kills (12) and assists (17) and tied for the team-lead in aces (3) as No. 2-seeded Haverhill rolled past No. 16 Arlington 3-0 in the MIAA Division 1 Round of 16.
 
Gabby Burdier added 12 digs and Lexi DeOliveria had to blocks for the Hillies (18-2), who will next host Lincoln-Sudbury on Friday (time TBA) in the Round of 8.

Hillies overcome

 

Haverhill's softball team held a brief 2-1 lead but couldn't hold on, falling to Arlington 3-2 in the Division 1 North prelims. Losing pitcher Alyssa Wilson only allowed four hits and was 2 for 4 at the plate for the Hillies, who finish their season at 12-9.

Rangers tune up

 

Methuen tuned up for the upcoming Division 1 North tournament with a solid 8-4 victory over a strong Arlington club. Stephanie Tardugno was 3 for 4 with a home run and scored twice for the Rangers (16-4) while Dana Littlefield and Emma McAlpine were also 3 for 4 and both had a pair of RBIs.

Central run ends

 

Central Catholic's season-ending surge came to an end Saturday in the Division 1 first round against Arlington. The Raiders, who had won six straight to make the tournament and seven straight overall, held a 4-1 lead early and 5-4 edge after four innings but a couple of mental mistakes resulted in three Arlington runs in the fifth and resulted in a 7-6 loss. Abby Latham ended her career with a pair of RBIs for the Raiders (13-9).

Trailing by two in the top of the seventh, Sarah Cowley had an RBI hit that tied the game up for Haverhill softball, but Arlington plated a run in the bottom half for the walkoff, 8-7, victory.

Andover stays hot

 

Andover's boys hockey team won its second straight 2-0 game against a top team since head coach Chris Kuchar returned to the team, defeating defending Super 8 champ Arlington to improve to 11-5-2. Matt Belluche and Caeden Dillman scored for the Warriors and Cole Gingras had 25 saves.
