Bradford Christian girls basketball rallied from five down in the last two minutes to edge Wilbraham 61-59. Piath Gabriel led BCA with 26 points and 18 rebounds. Rachel Romich added 13 points.

School record

The Governor's Academy girls 4x200 relay team of June Stevens, Erin Hanlon, Julia Russolillo and Kianne Benjamin set a new school record on Saturday, taking first with a time of 1:54.53 to lead the team against Phillips Andover, Wilbraham and Monson and the Hyde School. Governor's finished second as a team with 56 points, also getting first place finishes from Benjamin in the 55 dash (7.43), Grace Everett in the 1,000 (3:30.29) and high jump 4-8 and Russolillo in the pole vault (8-0)

Govs break school record

The Governor's Academy boys 4x200 relay team of Kyle Rochford, Otto Laakkonen, Ben Murtagh and Luke Moriarty broke its own school record on Wednesday, beating out teams from Phillips Andover, Wilbraham and Monson, Marianapolis Prep and Landmark to finish in 1:37.61. Laakkonen also won the 55-meter dash (6.85), Moriarty won the 300 (38.00) and Rochford won the high jump (5-7).

 Phillips Academy's volleyball team captured the New England Founding Four tournament, defeating Choate 3-1 and Wilbraham and Munson in three straight games. The Big Blue ended its season with a 10-3 record.

Sachem relays excel

Pentucket had a big day at the Divison 3 State Relays at the Reggie Lewis Center. Its 4x800 relay team of Rebecca Morse, Amy Babeu, April O'Brien and Alanna Poretta came in third in 9:52.85, missing a school record by two-tenths of a second. Also, the distance medley unit of O'Brien, Valerie Grim, Babeu and Poretta was fourth in 12:46.68, beating the school record by four seconds and qualifying them for the Nike nationals in March. Two other Sachem relays didn't qualify, but qualified for the state meet.
