Salem crushed Portsmouth in softball 19-2 as freshman Addison Lucier was 2 for 2 with two RBIs and four runs scored,  sophomore Vania Moniz was 2 for 3 with three RBIs and two runs scored and Bri Boucher was 3 for 3 with a pair of RBIs to lead the way.

Jaguar comeback

Down 10 heading into the fourth quarter, Windham outscored Portsmouth 18-6 the rest of the way for a 43-41 win. Liv Tsetilas (16 points) and Sarah Dempsey (8 points) made clutch free throws down the stretch to give Windham their first lead of the game with 36 seconds left.

Astros win in PKs

Macy Graves scored in regulation and in PKs as No. 9 Pinkerton beat No. 8 Portsmouth in the Divsion 1 girls soccer prelims. The Astros won it in six rounds of PKs as Graves, Olivia Pavao, Chayse Dube, Adria Forand and Sawyer Jackson tallied for the 5-4 advantage. Jordan Wheaton, who came in for the PKs, made the one pivotal save to win it. 

The Astros are at 16-0 Exeter Sunday (2 p.m.) in the quarterfinals.

Owls ousted

Everything started out swimingly for Timberlane volleyball in its playoff opener against No. 7 Portsmouth. The Owls won the first set, 25-17, but lost steam and fell in the next three (25-8, 25-7, 25-8) to loss 3-1. The Owls end their season 10-9.
