Timberlane scored three runs in the top of the seventh on bases loaded singles by John O'Leary and Liam Kelley to knock off previously undefeated Portsmouth 9-7 Monday. Logan Sheely allowed one run over the final 3 1/3 innings for the pitching win.

Astros win by 21

Pinkerton softball scored nine runs in the second and 10 in the third in a 21-0 rout over Portsmouth. Lily Mason had a home run and drove in four while Paige Ouellette and Olivia Mason each had three RBIs. Ashleigh Lemay picked up the complete-game victory, allowing two hits over five innnings.

15-run fifth

Trailing by a run after four innings, Windham softball exploded for 14 runs in the fifth to beat Portsmouth 15-2. Freshman Kelly Wright was 3 for 4 with an RBI and two runs and was the winning pitcher, while classmate Ari DeCotis drove in three runs and scored two more and Ella Tower drove in two for the winners.

Marshall dominates, Astros move on

Jackson Marshall scored a game-high 29 points and grabbed 14 rebounds as No. 4 Pinkerton held off No. 5 Portsmouth 56-50 in the Division 1 quarterfinals. 
Anthony Chinn added 10 points and eight rebounds as the Astros (20-3), who will next take on top-seeded Trinity on Wednesday (7:30 p.m.) The location is TBA.

Anthony Chin scored 23 points and grabbed 11 rebounds, Jackson Marshall added 20 points and 13 rebounds, and they each hit two key free throws in the final minute to clinch Pinkerton's 53-47 win over Portsmouth.

Windham earns championship bid

Carolyn Wang won No. 2 singles (8-4), Cameron Livingstone took No. 3 singles (8-4) and they teamed to win No. 2 doubles (9-8) as Windham beat Portsmouth 6-3 in the New Hampshire Division 2 semifinals. Jess Thibodeau won top singles for the Jaguars, who will play for the championship on Friday (4 p.m.) at Dover High School.

Ex-Warrior's awards

 

Former Merrimack women's ice hockey captain Mikyla Grant-Mentis was honored with four National Women's Hockey League end of year awards. In her first full professional season with the Toronto Six, she became the first player in a single NWHL season to earn four different awards in a single season — the league's Most Valuable Player and Newcomer of the Year, Toronto's Foundation Award recipient and one of the Fans' Three Stars of the Season honorees.
