Royals place fourth

The Georgetown-Ipswich wrestling team placed fourth at the Scituate Tournament, scoring 127 points as a team. Tre Aulson and Matt Mansfield went 4-0 to win at 113 and 160 pounds respectively, with Mansfield coming back from a 15-5 deficit against the No. 1 seed to get the pin with 20 seconds remaining, and Troy Forgitano went 3-0 to win at 126 pounds.

Tre Aulson went 3-0 and won the 106-pound division at Saturday's Scituate Early Bird Tournament, helping lead Georgetown-Ipswich to a third place team showing. Ian Forgitano (113), Troy Forgitano (120), John Blythe (170) and Nick Frongillo (285) all placed second in their divisions, and Brandon Odle (106) placed third.

Royals win tourney

 

Georgetown won its first individual tournament since 1996 by winning the nine-team Scituate Tournament, crowning four champions and scoring 160 points. Leading the way was John Blythe, who was named tourney Outstanding Wrestler after beating Scituate's tough John Harshe 2-0 in the finals.

Thanks to two champions, Georgetown-Ipswich finished fourth at the Scituate Invitational. Ian Forgitano was first at 106 and Charlie Koshivas was the champ at 160. Josiah Krason (113) and Carsten LaPlante (120) were both runner-up.
