Don't forget D'Amelio!

While Laina Costanzo and Ella Cotter got credit for the goals, it was Mariana D'Amelio who set both of them up in Sanborn field hockey's 2-1 overtime win over John Stark. The overtime winner happened after D'Amelio fired a rocket that shot off the pads of the Stark goalie and found its way to the open stick of Cotter.

Maggie Farrell took a pass from Devon Hamilton and scored the game-winning goal in sudden-death overtime to give Windham an 8-7 victory over John Stark. Little sister Ryane Farrell had three goals for the winners.

Sawyer on fire for semis-bound Windham

Taylor Sawyer had 10 kills, 18 service points and four aces, going on a 10-serve streak in the fourth game to help Windham take down John Stark, 3-1, in the Division 2 quarterfinals. The No. 3 Jaguars get No. 2 Milford in the semifinals Wednesday at 5 p.m. from Pinkerton.

The Pelham girls soccer team lost its N.H. Division 2 first round matchup to John Stark 3-1, losing a 1-0 halftime lead to see the opposing side score three unanswered over the final 40 minutes. Maddie Burke scored the lone goal for Pelham, which finishes its season 10-6-1.

Dufault deals

No. 3 Windham jumped ahead of John Stark early, and starter Brandon Dufault went the distance on the mound with 10 strikeouts to lead the Jaguars to a 7-3 win in the Division 2 quarterfinals. Tommy Costa drove in three runs, and Stephen Koza drove in two. The Jaguars play No. 2 and defending champs Souhegan Tuesday at 4 p.m. at Southern New Hampshire University. Souhegan beat Windham twice during the regular season.
