The Manchester Essex boys soccer team had its hands full yesterday with a tough Lynnfield squad and standout goal scorer Mike Kennedy. However, the Hornets were up to the task, as junior Cam Doane was able to neutralize Kennedy defensively and help Manchester Essex earn a 2-2 tie and bump its record to 3-2-4. Senior Giuseppe Guerriero gave the Hornets the early lead, scoring on a header off a long throw-in from senior Ashton Davis. After Lynnfield tied the game, Joey Roy added a goal off another Davis throw-in, but Lynnfield would once again get the equalizer.

The Manchester Essex football team's 3-0 start has not come easy.

The Hornets have been tested by a tough Pope John team and a bigger school in Lynnfield. However, Manchester Essex was able to snatch victory from the jaws of defeat in both of those games to keep their undefeated record in tact.

Meaghan Dillon scored twice as Pentucket cruised past Manchester Essex 6-0. K.C. Jones, Hillary Biggs, Caila Aylward and Sarah Selig all scored for the Sachems (4-4), and Heather Thomas made seven saves to earn the clean sheet.

Giuseppe Guerriero scored twice as Manchester Essex drew Pentucket 2-2. Jake Buzzell and Brian Clevesy struck for Pentucket. Matt Graves made eight saves for Manchester Essex (3-2-3), and Joe Casey turned aside six shots for the Sachems (1-4-4).

Over the last five years, the Manchester Essex field hockey team has been a powerhouse, making the Division 2 North semifinals in each season during that span.

This fall, the Hornets are hoping to finally get past that point, and Molly Foye is doing everything in her power to help accomplish that goal.

Manchester Essex's undefeated run came to an end, falling to North Andover 3-0. Jordan Berger had nine saves in the loss.

Giuseppe Gueriero scored a pair of goals to lift Manchester Essex over Amesbury 2-1. Robbie Longor, John Pires and Ashton Pires played well for the Hornets.

One of the most appealing aspects of playing high school football is the opportunity to play in front of your hometown fans.

Unfortunately, the Manchester Essex football team will not have that opportunity this season.

Molly Foye notched a hat trick | her second of the week | during Manchester Essex's 3-0 win over Masconomet. Lee Stroman, Stephanie Lamattina and Molly Thomas added assists for the Hornets, who improved to 6-0.

Six different goal scorers sparked a 6-0 Manchester Essex shutout over Rockport. Molly Foye did an excellent job finding her teammates, dishing out three assists along with one of the goals. Kayleigh Keating was spectacular, stopping 34 shots for the Vikings.
