Alex Wagner, Seve Elkin and Sam Milbury each scored early to give Brooks a quick lead.  But Roxbury Latin came back in the second half but Brooks held on for a 3-2 win.  Matt Meyers made six saves to secure the win.

Brooks shutout in opener

NORTH ANDOVER — Brooks drew a tough opening-day opponent and stuggled to find an offensive identity during a 34-0 loss to Roxbury Latin, last night at Merrimack College.

"It was a tough opener against a good opponent," said Brooks head coach Alex Konovalchik. "We hope to rebound in week two win a win over Groton."

Lightning forced a rare lacrosse tie as Brooks and Roxbury Latin played to a 5-5 stalemate in the fourth when it had to be halted. Freshman Will Eikenberry of Andover netted his first career goal for Brooks.

Anthony Barry scored 26 points and grabbed 12 rebounds as Brooks put the finishing touches on an outstanding 20-win regular season with a 63-49 win at Roxbury Latin.  Connor Mahoney had 20 points and eight reounds.  Brooks now waits to hear its fate for the upcoming Class B Prep school tourney.
