Brooks survives

 

The Brooks girls hockey team went ahead 2-1 in the first period and held on for a 4-3 win over Vermont Academy in the quarterfinals of the NEPSAC Class B tournament. Four different players scored for Brooks, now 20-2-2.

Super sophomores

Sophomores J.C. Castro of Bellingham scored 18 points with three 3-pointers and Sydney Richard of Hooksett, N.H., backed her with 16 and four treys as Bradford Christian won its New England Prep D semifinal game with Vermont Academy 54-46.

Brooks 0, Vermont Academy 0

Brooks, despite missing three of its top four runners with injuries, finiashed third in the New England Division 4  prep meet, finishing behind Middlesex and Holderness. Amy Couture of Windham, N.H., finished ninth to lead the Green and White, Yadira Flores was 22nd and Nicole Rosmarin was 23rd.

Brooks second in Div. 4 meet

Brooks didn't even finish with a .500 record in the regular season, but it finished a strong second yesterday in the New England Div. 4 prep meet at Vermont Academy.

Middlesex finished with 44 ponts with Brooks next at 87. Josh Kirkman came in second individually with an 18:24 over the hilly 5K course while Ian Anderson was seventh  and Jon Choroszy was 13th for the Green and White, which also won the JV meet.
