Collins honored

 

Merrimack College junior forward Mike Collins has been named Hockey East Co-Player of the Week, sharing the honor with Jon Swavely of Maine.   Collins led the Warriors on Friday night to the 3-2 victory over No. 4 UNH with two goals, an assist,  his fifth three-point game of the season. The junior has nine points in his last five conference games and has racked up a team-high 25 points in 16 conference matchups. His 1.56 points per game in conference play is tops in Hockey East. Merrimack (10-10-5, 8-6-2 HEA) will return home  Friday to take on the  UMass Lowell RiverHawks at 7 p.m.

Brooks two-hit in loss

Nick Potter made three tremendous plays in the field but Brooks was unable to mount a consistent offense against Dexter. Cam Johst and Max Romanow each had second-inning singles for the only two hits.

Settles for tie

 

Phillips Academy gave up a goal in the final 20 seconds and settled for a 4-4 tie with Dexter. Tim Driscoll had a hat trick for the Big Blue (8-8-3) and Seamus O'Neill had three assists.

Dexter 3, Brooks 1

Battling undefeated Dexter on the road in his first start of the season, Brooks senior Cam Johst aquitted himself very well despite suffering a 3-1 defeat. The Andover hurler scattered just five hits in going the distance.

Dexter ripped off four quick first-period goals and Brooks couldn't recover, dropping a 7-2 decision. Jon Choroszy and Nick Potter lit the lamp for Brooks.

Pingree demolishes Dexter to close season

The Highlanders ended their season at 3-5 by snapping a four-game losing streak with an emphatic victory.

Derek Pratt had a 12-yard touchdown run and later caught a 64-yard scoring pass from quarterback Carlos O'Donnell (who also kicked 6 extra points). Lemarre Rey had scoring runs of 1 and 7 yards for Pingree (3-5), while Pat George had a 5-yard TD run and Dan Rogers returned a blocked punt 10 yards for another score.
