Katie Kreider led the way with 16 points as Phillips Academy moved over the .500 mark (8-7) with a 46-42 victory over Northfield Mount Hermon.

The Merrimack women’s soccer team dominated the second half, but visiting Adelphi kept the home side at bay, as both the Warriors and Panthers played to a scoreless draw in a key Northeast-10 Conference showdown last night.

NORTHFIELD — Nate Scyocurca rushed for 189 yards and scored three touchdowns as Phillips Academy pounded NMH 49-26 to snap a 13-game losing streak dating back to the 2010 season.

Despite missing two starters, one of whom went to the hospital with an allergic reaction on the way to the match, the Phillips Academy volleyball team stayed unbeaten by rallying past Northfield Mt. Hermon in five games. Amanda Simard had 13 kills and five blocks for the Big Blue.

Dan Dymecki worked a complete-game shutout and teammate Rory Ziomek followed that with six shutout innings as Phillips took both ends of a twinill, 7-0 and 14-0.

Phillips Academy coach Leon Modeste had nothing but praise for the work of running back Tyler West.

"Tyler is a true champion," said Leon. "He battled and had a great game."

The Phillips Academy volleyball team, which lost to Northfield Mount Hermon earlier in the season came back with a three-game sweep yesterday. Jamie Shenk had 21 kills for the Big Blue (6-3) and Chelsea Ward had 30 assists. 

Not known as a power hitter, Jeremy Hutton blasted two homers over the fence, the first two of his varsity career, in Phillips' 8-5 win over N.M.H., the second of a doubleheader sweep.

Kelsey Jamieson of Andover won the 800 (2:28.0) and 1,500 (5:16.2) to help Phillips dump NMH, 90-55.

 Harvard-bound Malcolm Mason-Rodriguez put on a show at NHM. The Phillips great set school records in the triple jump (48-3 to break his own area record) and 100 meters (10.7) and won the long jump (23-0 1/2).
