ANDOVER — Phillips Andover may not be headed to a postseason bowl like a season ago, but the Blue Blue accomplished what mattered most.

They beat Phillips Exeter.

Phillips closed out its season in style, edging their century-old archrival 13-12 in their annual meeting on Saturday.

Columbia recruit Dylan Mott broke the modern school record (last 30 years) with his 48th career goal. It might be the most memorable of the 48 as it gave Phillips a 1-1 tie with archrival Exeter.

John Festa drove in six runs in two games, lifting Phillips Andover to a doubleheader sweep of rival Phillips Exeter. Georgetown's Thomas Lane earned the win in the 13-3 opener, while the Big Blue prevailed in the nightcap behind Chris Salvadore, 9-7.

Michael Camarda, Christian Alberga, Scott Simpson and Joe Faller won the 200 freestyle relay in 1:27.32 to help Phillips 131-53 over Phillips Exeter. 

Ikenna Ndugba had a craeer-high 34 points and added 8 rebounds and 6 assists as Brooks toppled defending Class A champion Phillips Exeter 63-47.

With the 135-year-old rivalry on the line and less than a minute left on the clock, Ryder Stone and Phillips Academy locked down one of the most thrilling finishes in the historic meeting.

With 31 seconds left and Andover trailing by five, Stone took a handoff and burst in from 3 yards out to give his team the lead, and Alec Tolentino picked off a pass in the waning seconds to give the Big Blue a 13-12 win over archrival Phillips Exeter.

The Phillips Academy softball team ended its season unbeaten (13-0) with a 2-0 win over archrival Phillips Exeter. Kayla Maloney closed out her terrific career with a three-hitter, striking out 11 without walking a batter. She also had an RBI. Catcher Nikki Pelletier of Andover had a triple and scored on a squeeze bunt executed by Andover's Caitlin Clancy.

It doesn't get much sweeter than beating Exeter in OT! Meredith Collins passed to Olivia Cabral, who found the back of the net with 25 seconds left in OT for the 12-11 PA win.

Senior Rory Ziomek made a great senior memory for himself, tossing one-hit complete-game shutout for Phillips Andover to beat rival Phillips Exeter, 1-0. The Tufts-bound righty struck out 13 and walked one. David McCullough singled with two outs in the first, moved to third on an wild pickoff throw and scored on John Festa's RBI hit, plating the only run of the game. Exeter had won the opener of the doubleheader, 4-2.
