Brooks fell to 0-7 as it forfeited it's Friday afternoon game against Lawrence Academy (now 7-1). The Boston Herald reported Brooks forfeited due to "injury and illness."

NORTH ANDOVER – After playing a big role in helping perennial state power Central Catholic to 37 victories the previous two years, lanky guard George Smith decided to take his basketball skills to neighboring North Andover where he hooked up with the area’s most dominant program.

Michael Wolfendale completed 6 of 8 passes for 137 yards and two scores and scored on a 1-yard run as Brooks ripped Lawrence Academy, 40-18, to improve to 3-4. John Manzi carried 10 times for 99 yards and scored twice and John Fritz scored on an 89-yard kickoff return. Defensively Fritz added seven tackles for Brooks, which improved to 3-4.

The Brooks boys soccer team exploded for five goals in the first half on its way to a comfortable 6-1 win over Lawrence Academy. Jack Brown and Abhay Gandhi each scored twice.

Freshman Brooke Rogers of North Andover notched a goal to help Brooks field hockey beat Lawrence Academy, 2-0.

Abby Zerbev of North Andover remained uneaten for Brooks in singles with a 6-0, 6-0 sweep in a 15-0 romp over Lawrence Academy.

Caroline Kukas had a double, triple, scored twice and drove in two as Brooks blanked Lawrence Academy, 7-0.

Sydney Richards and five 3-pointers and finished with 21 points as Bradford Christian defeated Lawrence Academy 55-41.

Governor's Academy wrestling started the season off strong with a pair of wins over Worcester Academy and Lawrence Academy on Saturday. Cara Nugent, Mitch West, Kristoff Burrell, Cooper Howson, Alex Sherbak and David Hurlin all went 2-0 on the day.

The freshman Lawrence Academy back ran wild for over 300 yards and a whooping six touchdowns, leading the Spartans to a commanding 56-7 victory over Phillips in the Kevin Fleming Bowl.
