Jen Newman had a goal and an assist to pace the Pingree School girls' soccer team to a 2-0 victory over Newton Country Day School in the quarterfinals of the New England Prep School Athletic Conference (NEPSAC) playoff quarterfinals.
Ari Twomey also scored for the Highlanders (13-2-1) while Jackie Lee added an assist. Kelly Baril stopped six shots in goal for Pingree, which advances to Saturday's semifinals against the winner of the St. Luke's/King & Lowe contest.
