The year 2010 had not been kind to Salem heading into last night. But Mike Frahm and his squad finally broke thorugh last night.
Frahm scored a pair of goals and assisted on another as Salem bested Manchester Memorial 4-1. The win snapped a four-game winless streak for the Blue Devils (0-3-1) dating back to the Blue Devil Holiday Tourney finals.
"We really needed this," said Blue Devils head coach Mark McGinn. "They needed it for their spirits and they really had to get it tonight."
After the Blue Devils were blanked in the first period, they surged back with two in the second and two more in the final period. Along with Frahm's two tallies, Ken Frazier and Nick Berreira each scored once.
Goalie Chad Livingston made that stand up, stopping 23 shots.
"Our team has been battling the last few weeks," said McGinn. "So this is big. And this is a team that we could be battling for a tournament spot, so this is a valuable win."
