Bentley University senior linebacker Matt Zahoruiko of North Andover has been named the co-Defensive Player of the Week in the Northeast-10 Conference. It’s the second straight week and third time this season.
Zahoruiko, the only player this year who has been the conference’s Defensive Player of the Week more than once, helped Bentley run its record to 8-1 with a 24-20 win over Assumption. He made eight of his 10 tackles in the second half, recovered a fumble at the Greyhound six to set up the Falcons’ go-ahead touchdown, and made an interception with 2:16 left to end Assumption’s final possession.
