Santacroce shines in seniors' home finale

Tyler Santacroce had 12 service points, nine kills and eight digs (all team highs) as Lawrence cruised past Andover, 25-21, 25-20, 25-16 in the Lancer seniors' final home contest. Fellow seniors Ylvin Hiraldo (27 assists, three aces) and Ramon Heredia (nine kills) were key, as well.

Said coach Tony Hajjar, " It's a good feeling to see the seniors go out on a high note."

Matt Washburn finished with 10 kills and five blocks in spite of dislocating his finger in the second game. A Warrior in every sense of the word, Wasburn had his mother, a doctor, put the finger back in place to avoid leaving the game. "Talk about a kid with pure guts," coach George Sullivan said.
