Perfect 10 for champion North Andover

It was a day of firsts for the North Andover girls' track team yesterday, following its 51-35 win over Masconomet.

For the first time in school history, North Andover completed its regular season with a perfect 10-0 mark. It was also the Knights' first Cape Ann League title in 13 years and its first win over Masconomet in 10 years.

Alison Pronovost won the 50-yard dash in 7.7 and Shannon O'Connor took the top spot in the 300, in a time of 43.4. Karissa Mako won the 2-mile in a time of 12:21.

"It has been a history making season," said North Andover head coach Rick DelleChiaie. "And to beat for the first time in 10 years is fantastic because they have had our number. This is a sweet one to win."
