GEORGETOWN — In what was a wild back-and-forth offensive battle, Whittier Tech scored last Friday night.

Led by AJ Espinal and Hector Gomez, the Wildcats piled up 483 yards on the ground and outscored the Royals, 44-34.

Espinal rushed for a whopping 223 yards on 27 carries, scored three touchdowns and had a pair of two-point conversion runs while Gomez finished with 91 yards on just nine carries and had two touchdowns, the final from 22 yards out with two minutes to play that sealed the victory.

Whittier controlled the ball for much of the game but Georgetown stayed in it with several long touchdowns, including one by standout receiver Hunter Lane.

"They (Georgetown) did a nice job but it seemed like we were on offense the whole game," said Whittier coach Kevin Bradley.

When the Wildcats were on defense, outside lienabcker Joe Ianalfo had a strong game for Whittier pressuring the quarterback.

Both Whittier and Georgetown are now 2-1.
