PLAISTOW — There wasn't a single aspect of the game that Pinkerton failed to execute Friday night.

The Astros scored on offense, defense and on special teams to earn an easy 44-10 win over Timberlane.

After Nick Lombard opened the scoring with a 10-yard run for Pinkerton (5-1), the senior returned a punt 35 yards for another score. Timberlane (1-5) got a safety, but the Astros got two rushing touchdowns of 9 and 38 yards from Gennaro Marra and the ended the half on an Andrew Lufkin 24-yard field goal.

Coming out of the break up 30-2, Pinkerton added an Owen McCormack 30-yard interception return and a Jake MacInnis 45-yard TD run in the third. The defense was phenomenal for the Astros all game. Timberlane only mustered 98 yards of total offense.

The Owls did get something positive when quarterback Dan Hayes ended the game with a 3-yard run followed by a Cody Fleming two-point conversion.

Pinkerton, now tied atop Division 1 South with Londonderry (which the Astros hold the tiebreak) are at Portsmouth Friday at 7 p.m. Timberlane will try to get back on track at Windham next Saturday at 2 p.m.
