Methuen hockey's season opener against Concord-Carlisle was an exciting one. Both Matt Horan and Pat Cooper scored twice, and Brett Blackwell had a goal and four assists to lead the Rangers to a high-scoring 7-6 victory.
The win gave Methuen coach Bill Blackwell No. 100 for his career. He coached seven years at Masconoment, and is now in his second season with the Rangers.
