The biggest test of the Bishop Fenwick girls lacrosse team's season was passed with flying colors last night.
Playing under the lights on their turf field, Fenwick got six goals from junior scoring machine Bridget Dullea and held off Catholic Central League rival Arlington Catholic, 12-11, in a battle of league unbeatens.
Sophomore Ellen O'Leary added four goals for the Crusaders (9-0) while senior captain Amelia Santos had a pair of scores, including the eventual game-winner with about nine minutes remaining.
Goalkeeper Jill DeFrancesco earned yet another victory as the Fenwick junior had 16 saves.
"We were up by a couple of goals late before they made it close, but we were able to hang on," said Fenwick head coach Karen Guillemette, whose team plays at Austin Prep Friday. "This was definitely one of our toughest games, but we passed a good test tonight."
