ROXBURY — Lawrence had its best effort in at least the last 30 years at the State Division 1 girls track meet.

The Lancers scored 12 points, easily eclipsing its best effort since 1988. The next best were four points in 1999 and 2003. 

Leading the Lancers was junior RosaLinda Rosario, who took third in the 55-meter hurdles in 8.86 while Naraly Matos took a fourth-place in the shot put with a 33-6 throw. Emily Toala earned the final point with an eighth in the shot put. 

Andover had the best overall effort with 31 points to tie for fifth.  Juliana Kennedy finished third in the 600 meters (1:38.33) and the 4x400 team of Kennedy, Hannah Lansberry, Emma Joel and Delia Barbanti won the 4x400 in 4:04.20.

Methuen's Luana Machado took seventh in the 600 and helped the Rangers place sixth in the 4x400. 

Haverhill's lone placer was Jayla Kitchings, who sped to a fourth in the hurdles.
