Odds and ends:  Brooks finished 11-2 in rebuilding year with young team after going 16-2. The Green and White added Eagle-Tribune MVP Britt Hart, who returns after pitching North Andover High to the Mass. state finals last spring. ... .  There are eight freshmen on the roster. One of them, impressive catcher Andrea Missert of Windham, N.H., is the younger brother of former Brooks goalie Derek Missert. ... Two potential starters are not back. Andover's Marina Moschitto, a catcher, is playing club soccer and outfielder Becca Engel is studying in France. ... The Independent School League has moved the mound back to 43 feet. ... With only 16 players in the program (two less than last year), Brooks once again doesn't have enough players to field a JV team.

Coach Andrea Heinze (14th year, 146-51): "I'm expecting similar success because of our pitching. We went 11-2 last year with one pitcher and now, with Britt (Hart) back, we have two very good pitchers. They'll share time at the beginning and see how it develops. Both Lindsey (Theriault) and Britt can help us in the field, too, so that helps. I think our top five hitters will be excellent, but the others need to be developed. I think Monica (Berube) is going to have a big year."
