North Shore | 3 |
The North Shore Tech baseball snapped a two-game skid in a big way yesterday with a 3-2 walk-off win over previously unbeaten Lynn Tech.
David St. Pierre's hard hit grounder plated the winning run in the bottom of the seventh, scoring pinch runner Chris Doucette to break a 2-2 tie and send North Shore (3-3) home with the victory.
"This is a big win for us | Lynn Tech came in here undefeated so this is a big league win," said Bulldogs coach John Delaney. "We had been in a lull the last two games and hopefully this will jump start us a bit."
Lynn jumped ahead 2-0 after one inning but the lead didn't last long as Andrew Rainsville got things going with a solo shot over the left field fence in the second inning. The Bulldogs tied the game in the next frame and the teams were deadlocked until the seventh.
Ryan Mahan went the distance on the hill and settled in after allowing the runs in the first. He allowed only four hits while striking out 11 and getting out of a bases loaded jam in the fourth.
