NORTH ANDOVER — Andover took a 13-2 lead after one quarter and cruised past Salem 72-44 in a consolation game at the 41st annual Commonwealth Motors Christmas Classic.
Devon Beasley led all scorers with 19 points, E.J. Perry IV had 12 and Ryan O’Connell and Brandon Witten added 11 each. Senior guard Michael Briggs, who has Down syndrome, also added a big basket for the Golden Warriors.
Salem’s Matt Vartanian continued his fine play with 18 points.
In the other consolation, North Andover downed Windham, 50-40. Rob Couyoumjian led the Scarlet Knights with 16 points while Jack Fowler had 14 and Connor Rogers nine. Cole Gill had 11 for the Jaguars.
