WRENTHAM — North Andover junior Lilly Voke placed seventh and the Scarlet Knights team placed seventh as a team at the Eastern Mass. Division 2 championships.

Voke and teammate Kim Carroll (17th place) advanced to the Division 1 States Saturday at Westfield.

The qualifying standard for Divison 1 and 2 States is top four teams in each of the six EMass. sectionals. For individuals, from each sectional its the top 10 not affiliated with the top four teams.

Knights coach Rick DelleChiaie said, "Division 2 (in EMass.) is the deepest with the best girls and fastest times. The top four girls were the top four of the entire day. Lilly ran her best time of the season. You can't knock that. Kim I thought I had an outside shot of making it (D1 States) and she did."

Voke covered the 3.1-mile Wrentham course in 18:39.66 with Carroll in 19:50.13.

No area team will be competing as the Knights had the highest finish. The next highest finish, also in Division 2, was Central Catholic in eighth place.

The top local 1-2 punch was Haverhill's Jillian Lemieux (19:38.78) and Jenna Solimine (19:42.77) who placed 12th and 13th, respectively, in Division 1. Also in D1, Methuen's Azia Kalil placed 36th in 20:35.89.

Central's top runner was Grace McDowell who finished 29th 9n 20:13.42.

The fifth area runner under 20 minutes was Austin Prep's Stephanie Casaletto, who finished fourth in the EMass. D6 race in 19:34.06. Georgetown 7th grader Grace Sousa was 15th in D6 in 20:22.69.
