DERRY — The Pinkerton field hockey team is moving on to the Division 1 semifinals after beating Keene 2-1 in overtime.
Carly Young scored the game-winning goal off a penalty corner with 4:58 left to play in overtime, sending the No. 3 seeded Astros through to the next round.
Pinkerton (11-2-2) controlled the game early and took a 1-0 lead in the first half on a goal by Abby Amato. Keene (9-7) came back strong in the second half and tied the game with 10 minutes to play, forcing the extra frame.
Pinkerton will move on to face No. 7 seed Londonderry (9-5-2) in the semifinals at Exeter High School on Thursday at 5 p.m.
