Capozzi leads Astros to third at New Englands

DERRY — Host Pinkerton placed third out of 12 teams at the 21st New England Gymnastics Championships.
"We scored six points higher than States," said Astro coach Chelsie Burland. "We had a great meet. Third place was like winning for us."
Barnstable (Mass.) won with 147.125 points followed by Woodstock (Conn) 147.0, and Pinkerton 144.675.
Brittany Capozzi scored a career-high 38.175 to place second for the second year in a row in the all-around. She took second on vault, bars and beam and fourth on the floor.
Windham's Sam Jezak was sixth on vault and 11th in the all-around. Andover's Nicole Stevens was fourth on the beam.
