Greater Lawrence Tech ran into a buzzsaw last night in defending EMass. champion Fenway High of Boston. The top seeded hosts lead 18-5 after one and 47-13 at the break en route to a 71-27 win in the Division 4 North quarterfinals. "They are pretty legit," said Reggies coach Tara Mansour-Neilon. "They do pretty much everything right. They fullcourt pressed us. They were all over the place. They are very aggressive and very big. One girl is 6-3 and a couple are 5-10."
The tough ending notwithstanding, it was still the best season since 2006-07 for the Black and Orange.
"I'm very proud of the girls," said Mansour-Neilon. "They worked hard all season to get to this game. We just didn't quit. I'm proud of the girls for that."
Scar Reynoso had 16 points for the Reggies, Alyssa Goulet added eight points and some tough defense and Kiana Rodriguez played her typical aggressive defense.
