For the first time in Dan Blouin's 10-year era as girls varsity coach at Lawrence, the Lancers beat Lowell.
Behind Aria Tate's 17 points (three 3-pointers) and Genesis Santana's 15 points, Lawrence won 48-46.
The Lancers led for most of the game but found themselves down 44-43 with 45 seconds remaining.
After a huge defensive stop, Tate nonchalantly buried a 3-pointer to put Lawrence ahead 46-44.
Karla Dominguez made a steal to end Lowell's next possession. She was fouled quickly and netted both her free throws to put Lawrence ahead 48-44.
Lawrence was able to hold on and improve to 3-3 on the season.
Lawrence 5-8 sophomore Emily Ramos did an excellent job covering Lowell 6-2 sophomore Alexi Schecter. Ramos held Schecter to just nine points and just two field goals.
Lawrence (48): Garcia 1-4-6, Santana 6-2-15, Lasalle 1-0-2, Ramos 1-0-2, Dominguez 2-2-6, Tate 7-0-17. Totals 18-8-48
