Pingree took control early and held on for an emphatic 62-55 win over Hebron Academy last night. The Highlanders grabbed a commanding 34-18 lead in the early going and moved to 3-1 on the year.
Allen Williamson poured in 21 points and grabbed nine rebounds to lead the way. More importantly, the Highlanders kept Hebron in check by controlling the pace.
"Allen helped us dictate the tempo," said Pingree coach Steve Gibbs. "Hebron has a good team and made a nice comeback, but we were able to control it and hit our foul shots at the end." Lemarre Rey scored 19 points and collected eight boards while point guard Carlos O'Donnell directed the offense with 16 points | including four 3-pointers | and four assists. Derek Pratt anchored the Pingree defense and added seven points and seven rebounds.
