Brooks fell into an early hole but managed to erase a 14-point first half deficit and post a 60-50 win over Pingree. Sophomore guard Jordan Johnson (16 points), Haverhill's Alex Skinner (20 points) and senior guard Jordan Mickens (16 points) each recorded career highs.
Skinner scored the first 11 points of the second half and buried five 3-pointers for the game. He had 17 second half points.
Brooks (1-0) trailed 23-9 with six minutes remaining in the first half, but cut the deficit to just two (27-25) at the break.
"We handled the adversity and dealt with it very well," said Brooks head coach John McVeigh.
