Georgetown sophomore Danielle Quercia, in just her second start of the season, had a perfect game through four innings and got the win with a tournament-clinching 2-1 win over Triton. Quercia also had both RBIs in the fifth with a perfect bunt that drove in runners from second and third. Ali Newbury was 2 for 3 and scored a run for the Royals (10-3), who won only four games last year.
"We didn't expect to qualify this early," said Georgetown coacgh Dave Tullgren.
