This was the kind of offense a coach would like to bottle and spread out over four or five games.

But for Londonderry, a record-breaking effort was in the cards against a tough Nashua North squad yesterday.

With both teams riding high on three-game winning streaks going in, the host Lancers not only broke out to a quick 10-0 lead but put together a historic fourth inning, scoring 23 runs in a five-inning, 33-7 victory.

The tally in the fourth alone broke the prior Londonderry single-game run record of 18. The Lancers sent 28 batters to the plate in the frame and had 17 straight batters score.

"We batted around three times," said head coach Brent Demas. "I put in a pinch pitter (Tim Jennings) and he batted three times (getting two hits, driving in a pair of runs and scoring twice). It was crazy."

Eventually, Demas had to find a way to limit the damage, and North's embarrassment, without taking the bats out of his players' hands.

"We wanted our guys to stay aggressive, and were still hitting balls down the lines and up the gaps, but we held them up at first base," Demas said.

Winning pitcher Ryan Moloney led the varied attack with four hits and five RBIs while Brett Evangelista (three hits), Jake Welch and Jake Cassidy (two hits each) drove in four runs apiece.
