Methuen senior Mike O'Donnell pulled away from Lowell standout Pat Coppinger to place first at the 34-team Frank Kelly Invitational in Wrentham yesterday., finishing with a personal-best 5K time of 15:56.
Lowell easily won the team competition with 52 points, but the Rangers finished fourth. Cam Pavao and Matt Marchand had strong races to finish 37th and 42nd respectively for the Rangers and Jeff Reddy and David Ospina went 5-8 in the freshman race.
