North Shore Tech Girls Basketball Preview

Last year's record: 2-18

Coach: Maureen Robinson (10th season)

Key returnees: Whitney Bell, Sr. C; Torrie Asaro, Sr. G; Shirley Blanco, So. PG.

Key departures: Amanda Boudreau, Jessica Cruz, Jessica Marchand.

Strengths: Conditioning. Because the Bulldogs are guard oriented, Robinson is looking to be a strong defensive team. North Shore will try to rely on its speed to win games.

Concerns: Lack of height and youth. Robinson jokes that she keeps waiting for a 6-footer to arrive at North Shore, but it just hasn't happened in her tenure. North Shore is a young team that doesn't have a true go-to scorer either. Robinson will wait for some of the young players to emerge on the offensive end.

Coach's outlook: "The old adage of one game at a time really does matter. I'm going to be down a couple key players at the beginning, one because of injury and the other for personal issues, so in the long run I'm hoping that makes our bench and depth better. We want to compete with the Commonwealth Small teams. The girls have a great attitude and we have a core group that will never give up."
