Marblehead Girls Basketball Preview

Coach: Sharlene Blake (first season)

Key returnees: Laura Kanarski, Sr. PG; Michelle Manley, Sr. G; Caitlin Forbes, Jr. G; Bridgett Forbes, So. G/F; Emma Crowley, So. G/F; Elise DiPrisco, Jr. G.

Key departures: Kristin Wetherbee

Strengths: Young legs and depth. The Magicians still have a way to go before they can be considered experienced, but their youthful exuberance and added depth should make them more competitive this season. Marblehead is carrying 13 players and Blake feels all 13 can make an impact at any point of a game.

Concerns: Competitive fire. Coming off a difficult season, Blake hopes the Magicians can erase all memories of the 19-loss season and move forward to become a more dangerous Northeastern Conference club.

Coach's outlook: "I don't want to make a prediction because I believe the season will speak for itself. The girls are all enthusiastic, hungry, teachable, and excited about it being a new season with a new head coach and a new program. I believe it will be an easy transition."
