BRAINTREE — North Andover High's incredible season came an abrupt end here at Braintree High last night in the Div. 2 state seminfinals.
North Andover, which stunned defending state champion Concord-Carlisle two days earlier (3-1), lost to Medway High, 3-0, to see its season end.
The Knights had the ball in Medway's end for more than half the game, outshooting the eventual winners 12 to 6, but in the key stat — goals — Medway romped.
Medway scored just three minutes into the game, on a beautiful header by Justin Kaplan (two goals), and North Andover played from behind the entire way.
Seniors Evan Dudley (three shots), Alex Morin (two shots), Connor Boudreau (two keys defensive plays near the Knights goal) and David Rose (strong play in the midfield) finished their careers on a high note.
North Andover finishes its first season in the MVC as champions, going 18-3-2 and winning their first North Sectional since 1999.
