Despite outshooting Bishop Guertin 13-2, Pinkerton's boys soccer team was deadlocked at halftime, 2-2, but the Astros pulled away in the second half for a 5-2 season-opening win. Owen Murray scoredtwice for Pinkerton and Ryan Williams had a gioal and an assist.
Senior Brian Kling, junior Tim Wood and sophomore John Hamilton werer solid on the defensive end for the traditionally strong Astros.
