Last year's record: 6-12

Coach: Marty Binette (3rd season)

Key returnees: Nate Masterson, 6-1, Sr., F; Corey Daff, 6-2, Jr., F; Tom Drinkwater, 6-3, Sr., C; Joey Hoyle, 6-2, Sr., F.

Strengths: Daff was the team's second leading (10 ppg.) scorer last season and Masterson averaged 6 points was a defensive spark. The Generals have a great comeback story in sophomore Matt Cook, who was badly injured by a line drive in baseball but is now strong enough to contribute in basketball. Freshman Mike Carter-Williams is a prospect at point guard and sophomore James Rodrigues could also be a big plus at guard. Generally speaking, H-W has good size.

Concerns: Assuming Daff is an bigger offensive threat than last season, the Generals still need to develop more scorers. H-W's defense tends to keep the scores low, but the Generals need to pick it up on offense.

Coach's outlook: "We've had a lot of adversity (in the past), but I'm really excited to get things going this season. We have a lot of new players and pretty good size. Making the (state) tourney is a legitimate goal."
