With Nicoline Holland's 100th career goal as a highlight, Georgetown totally shut down top seeded Shawsheen in a 4-0 victory.
The No. 8 Royals (11-3-6) move on to take on another Cinderella program, 12th ranked Lynnfield (9-5-6), in the Division 3 North semifinals tomorrow at 5:30 p.m. at Lynn's Manning Field.
Holland ended up with 102 goals in the late stages of her five-year varsity career as she registered a hat trick against the Rams.
"Since I was little, I've always played offense," Holland said of her scoring prowess. "It's not easy with new players coming onto the team year after year, but we have strong defensive backs that can break the ball out and midfielders that can funnel the ball up front."
Center back and CAL Division 3 MVP Kelly Chickering had the goal of the game for the Royals, dribbling upfield, faking out the goalie and tucking the ball into the open corner.
"All of our defenders did well (yesterday)," said coach Colleen Gibbs. "Chickering plays solid every game plus she had a great goal, Paige Leighton played well, Monika Tes was strong, freshman center back Jensena Moner and Madeleine Cannon ... they all played great."
