Two days after belting around Spaulding ace Paige Cormier, Salem's softball team knocked out Concord star Kelsey Martel on its way to a 5-0 victory.
"There's a long way to go, but this is about as good as we've looked this early," said Salem coach Harold Sachs.
Val Bauer went five strong innings, striking out six and allowing just two hits, to pick up the win and Hannah Latham had a key two-run hit in the fourth. She and Steph Long had two hits apiece.
