Timberlane's depth overflows

 

Timberlane's depth overflowed at the Spartan Tournament in Sanford, Maine.

The Owls not only easily won the title with 288 points, by well over 100 points, but its B team finished fifth with 104.5. The Owls placed 11 wrestlers in the finals and came away with six champions.

Owls in command

 

Timberlane's wrestling team boasts a whopping 14 semifinalists after the first day of the Sanford Tournament and is in a commanding lead in the 18-team Maine tournament. Because of the weather, the Owls were the only non-Maine team to compete.

Beaulieu returns

 

Heavyweight Noah Beaulieu, finally recovered from an injury, made his first appearance of the season and had a pin in the first period to highlight Timberlane's 55-18 victory over Manchester Central. Sophomore Brady Sickel had a 10-5 decision at 126 for his first varsity win.

Owls advance 7

 

LOWELL — Timberlane placed seven wrestlers in today's quarterfinals at the 76-team George Bossi Lowell Holiday Tournament and is in a dogfight for first place with defending champion Mount Anthony, followed closely by Chelmsford.

Owls survive battle

 

Short-handed Timberlane won its 147th straight meet in New Hampshire, but it wasn't as easy as usual, holding off scrappy Alvirne 42-25. Missing several starters, freshman Billy Savage had a key pin at 220 and sophomore Chris Lund had a fall at 220. Also, senior Dylan Musgrave won a featured match over all-stater Cam McClure, 6-2 at 145.

Owls cruise

 

Timberlane swept a quad-meet in rousing fashion, 56-9 over Noble, Maine, 59-12 over Phillips Exeter and 56-18 over Framingham. Dylan Tremblay had three pins in two different weight classes for the Owls and Barrett Kappler looked impressive at 120 with two pins among his three wins. Six different Owls had at least two pins on the day.

Owls open strong

Perennial power Timberlane wrestling started its season strong with a 60-18 win over Keene. Dylan Hughes, Taylor Donovan, Connor McGonagle, Robbie Pinault, Justin Berube and Dylan Tremblay all had pins for the Owls.
