For the third straight year, Timberlane won its wrestling showdown against North Andover, this time by a score of 42-21. The Owls won nine weight classes, including three by freshmen.

North Andover won two of three meets in the tough Springfield duals, getting an exciting 37-34 win over Franklin but losing decisively to powerful Springfield Central.

Fritz Hoehn was 3-0 on the day to remain undefeated while Stephen Cincotta was 2-0 and Costa Vergados had a key win against Franklin for the Knights, now 11-1 on the year.

Jack Perry, Adrian Polanco and Stephen Cincotta all had two pins as unbeaten North Andover swept Woburn and Wakefield.

Londonderry, with five quarterfinalists, stands in second place after the first day of the George Bossi Lowell Holiday Tournament.

Defending champion Mt. Anthony, with eight quarterfinalists, leads with 124 points, followed by the Lancers at 108 with Springfield Central third at 101. Timberlane, with four quarterfinalists, is sixth with 88 points.

Led by Jack Perry's 30-second pin, the North Andover wrestling team had four pins in the first 45 seconds to highlight a tiough 36-34 victory over Billerica. Kyle Milovanovic had a clutch 6-4 decision at 152 for the unbeaten Knights.
