NORTH ANDOVER — By the way Andover’s Colleen Caveney drives to the basket, she looks an awful lot like her cousin, Devon Caveney, a three-time Eagle-Tribune All-Star/state champion who graduated from Andover last spring.

“You can definitely tell they’re cousins, but Colleen’s personality is just so different and you can see it in the way she plays,” Andover junior Rachael Cormier said. “She’s very long. Her arms remind me of octopuses. So she’s always anticipating, always grabbing the ball. She’s really a huge part of our team.”

Witten on fire

Jessica Witten erupted for 28 points and seven 3-pointers, Colleen Caveney scored 19 points in just one half, and Rebecca Alois had 11 points and 11 rebounds as Andover tripped Dracut 85-55.

Andover's girls outscored Methuen 20-0 in the first quarter on their way to their second straight win. 76-50. Colleen Caveney had a career-high 20 points to lead the way while freshman Alyssa Casey had 16 points and nine rebounds.

Witten, Warriors rally for victory

Trailing by seven points with 2:13 left, Andover delivered a massive comeback that Jessica Witten capped off with her sixth 3-pointer of the day, and Rebecca Alois clinched with a pair of free throws to give the Golden Warriors a 49-45 win.
