Sachems smash school records

The Pentucket girls track team came in third out of 27 scoring teams at Friday's Division 4 State Relays thanks to two relays breaking previous school marks. The 4x200 team of Sabrina Campbell, Emily Rubio, Syeira Campbell and Sage Smith blitzed to first in 1:47.18, shattering the old school record of 1:48.00, and the four then combined to take second in the shuttle hurdle relay in 25.38 (old school record 25.94).

Duren takes three golds, Central clinches team title

Defending Eagle-Tribune outdoor track MVP Katharine Duren won the 55 hurdles (8.75) and long jump (17-5.25) and led the winning 4x200 relay to lead Central Catholic at an Merrimack Valley Conference Meet on Thrusday.

Rubio, relay take wins

Emily Rubio won the high jump with a personal-best 5-3 to lead Pentucket at the MSTCA Freshman/Sophomore Small School Championship. She was also seventh in the 300 (43.47)

Adding a victory for the Sachems was the 4x200 relay of Sabrina Campbell, Reese Gallant, Sage Smith and Emily Rubio that won with a 1:50.93. Campbell chipped in with a fourth in the 300 (43.27).

Sweeping away

 

Kaleigh Lane led a Central Catholic 1-2-3 sweep in the 300 meters and Courtney Dalke led a 1-2-3 North Andover sweep in the 1,000 to highlight the girls all-MVC meet at Boston University Friday. Dalke won by nearly 10 seconds. Central also won the 4x200 and 4x400 relays with Lane anchoring the latter. Sarah Lavery was first in the high jump for the Knights with a 5-4 clear.

Macy Graves (1,000, 3:18.99) and Emily Lesburt (high jump, 5-2) both won their respective events to help the Pinkerton girls track team take second at an eight-team meet at UNH with 55 points.

Cross, Lesburt take first

Meghan Cross won the 3,000 in 11:19.43 and Emily Lesburt took first in the high jump with a 5-2 to lead Pinkerton to third as a team at a 13-team multi-meet. Macy Graves added a second in the 600 (1:42.19) for the Astros.

Sachem relay dominates

The 4x200 relay of Sabrina Campbell, Madi Krohto, Emily Rubio and Syeira Campbell ran to victory in 1:48.60, the fastest time in the state so far this year, to highlight Pentucket's performance at the Small School Speed Classic.

Krohto added a second in the 55 hurdles (8.80). Syeira Campbell was runner-up in the 300 (42.32), beating her sister Sabrina Campbell, who was fourth (43.07). All three of those times were personal bests.

Rojco wins twice

It was a solid day for Salem track and field standout Katya Rojco. The senior took first in both the 55 hurdles (9.27) and the long jump (16-2.25) to help the Blue Devils take fourth out of an eight-team meet at UNH with 39.5 points.

There were no team scores reported by deadline Monday, but there were some excellent individual performances at the first MVC multi-team meet of the year in Boston led by Central Catholic junior Katharine Duren.

Couple Jaguar winners

The Windham girls track and field team had two winners at a meet at Plymouth State. Abby Hughes won the 600 (1:49.92) and Reagan Murray won the 300 (45.68), as the Jaguars took sixth out of 10 scoring teams.
