Joe Coye recorded 13 kills and seven blocks to lead Timberlane volleyball to a 3-0 win over Keene in the quarterfinals of the Division 1 tournament.

The Owls will play Pinkerton in the semifinals tomorrow at 5 p.m. at Pinkerton, which is considered to be a neutral site.

Methuen picked the perfect time to exorcise a couple of demons that were hanging around for a while.

The No. 10 Rangers upset No. 3 St. John's Prep, 3-0, the Division 1 North semifinals, marking their third-straight tourney upset. Prior to last night's win, Methuen (14-9) had knocked off No. 7 Westford Academy and No. 2 Lawrence.

Windham boys volleyball finished its regular season schedule with a 10-6 record after a 3-0 victory over Hollis-Brookline yesterday.

The Jaguars have drastically improved from last year when they won just two games. 

Methuen volleyball coach Matt Twomey said it best: "Any good team knows it's about making the tournament. Then you start at 0-0 and no one's better than anyone else."

After losing game one big and falling behind by five points in game two, Londonderry took a timeout and reversed its course to knot things up with Timberlane. However, Timberlane shook off the temporary setback and rolled to a 3-1 victory.

With 28 assists, 7 digs and 4 aces, Zach Sindoni commanded the back row in Haverhill's 3-0 North quarterfinal volleyball sweep of Chelmsford.

Windham's volleyball team defeated Keene for the second time this year, 3-2. Alex Whitehead led a balanced attack at the net with 10 kills. 

Utilizing every player at its disposal, Salem cruised to a convincing 3-0 volleyball victory over Mascenic. Eric Denning paced a balanced Blue Devil effort with seven kills and three blocks.

Haverhill's volleyball team ended the regular season undefeated (18-0), but it wasn't easy, edging Andover  3-2. James Murray and Drew Caruso both had 17 kills for the Hillies to offset the 33 kills of Andover's Joe Kuykendall and Zach Sindoni piled up 46 assists.

Reibin Hiraldo scored 12 service points and 38 assists as Lawrence held off upset-minded Andover 25-22, 22-25, 23-25, 25-16, 25-11. Anibal Henriquez added 15 kills and seven digs for the winners, while Joe Kuykendall continued to star for the Golden Warriors with 35 kills and 18 digs.
