Danvers comeback cut short by Big Blue

The Big Blue led 8-3 at halftime but behind four goals from Ashley Sullivan the Falcons came storming back. Swampscott got the last laugh with a 14-12 decision, in spite of three Danvers goals from Erica Veilleux and 17 saves by goalie Nikki Petronio.

Masco rolls again

The Chieftains (8-1, 8-0 CAL) racked up 20 goals for the fourth straight game in rolling by Newburyport 25-8. Sydney Godett led the onslaught with six goals and four assists while Brittany Fraser and Kathleen Ragan added four goals each. Madeline Hardy added a hat trick and Maura Brazel was the table-setter with a goal and five helpers as Masco held a commanding 16-4 lead at the break and the second half was academic.

Fenwick girls lax outlasts AC to remain unbeaten

The biggest test of the Bishop Fenwick girls lacrosse team's season was passed with flying colors last night.

Playing under the lights on their turf field, Fenwick got six goals from junior scoring machine Bridget Dullea and held off Catholic Central League rival Arlington Catholic, 12-11, in a battle of league unbeatens.

Fenwick still perfect

Junior Bridget Dullea racked up seven goals as the Crusaders (8-0) stayed perfect on the season with a 16-6 riumph over Matignon. Rebecca Graves added a hat trick as Fenwick led 9-5 at the half and never let up. Goalie Jill DeFrancesco stopped nine shots while Ellen O'Leary, Amelia Santos and Casey Otovic all chipped in with a pair of goals.

The Panthers (7-1) rolled by Medford 12-2 behind five goals from Janie Cooper and a natural hat trick courtesy of Mary Accomando. Adding single goals for Beverly were Kate Williams, Alyssa Accomando, Brie Mari and Katie Von Zwek as a total team effort at both ends of the field sparked the win.

Danvers tops Dracut

Ashley Sullivan scored three times to help Danvers (1-7) grab its first win of the year, 12-7 over Dracut. Taylor Cross and Steph Costas each notched two goals as the Falcons racked up 10 goals in the first half and were able to hold Dracut off after the break.
